**Notice of Public Hearing**

The Antrim County Board of Commissioners will hold a Public Hearing on the proposed 2022 General Fund and Other Fund budgets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 in the Commissioners Room, 2nd Floor of the Antrim County Building in Bellaire, MI. Copies of the proposed budget will be available in the County Clerk's Office after noon on Friday, October 1, 2021. 

The property tax millage rate proposed to be livied to support the Proposed budget will be a subject of this hearing.

*The Board of Commissioners has opted to not hold virtual public comment for this hearing. All public comment must be made in person.


Board of Commissioners Work Sessions

The Antrim County Board of Commissioners will be holding a number of work sessions over the coming weeks. The focus of these sessions will be strategic planning and budget planning for the 2022 fiscal year. All work sessions will be held in the Board of Commissioners Room in the Antrim County Building. At this time, the Board has opted to not livestream these sessions. Any public comment must be made in person.

The schedule for work sessions is as follows:


**County Building Access**

The Antrim County Governmental Building is open to the public for walk-in business. Public access to the building is available at the northeast and southwest entrances only. 


**Board of Commissioners Meeting**

The next regular meeting of the Antrim County Board of Commissioners is scheduled for Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 9:00 a.m.

Public comment is welcome and encouraged. All individuals who wish to speak in person during public comment will be allowed to do so. Members of the public are encouraged to participate through virtual format, utilizing Zoom webinar, though are not required to do so. Any member of the public speaking under the privilege of “Public Comment,” whether in person or virtually, may speak no longer than three (3) minutes. A group of individuals who wish to present a specific point of view may designate a spokesperson for whom the Board Chair may allow additional time; however, this is not a requirement.

At this time, public comment must be given in person or through Zoom. Comments that are received via email will not be read aloud in the meetings. These communications will instead be sent to the Board of Commissioners separate from the agenda packet.

Apportionment Commission

The County Apportionment Commission is a statutory commission (governed under MCL 46.401-46.416) that is charged with the responsibility of apportioning the County into commissioner districts. This commission is comprised of the County Clerk, the County Treasurer, the County Prosecuting Attorney, and the Chairperson of the two major political parties. 

The Apportionment Commission convenes every 10 years following the publication of the US decennial census. Once the commission adopts and files a plan, a copy must be filed with the Secretary of State, along with a resolution, a description of the districts, and a map showing the new district boundaries.
