Services & Assistance


The Antrim Conservation District offers forestry services such as free on-site property evaluations, tree planting recommendations, assistance for timber sales, der management, and insect and disease identification. North Country Community Mental Health is the public behavioral health agency serving northwest lower Michigan. They provide services to residents who are experiencing emotional problems, mental illness, or developmental disability.

The State of Michigan's Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS) has an office on the first floor of the County Building. DHHS can provide food assistance, cash assistance, child care and adult services. DHHS also deals with foster care and adoption issues.

The Health Department of Northwest Michigan's mission is: "to promote wellness, prevent disease, provide quality health care, address health problems of vulnerable populations, and protect the environment for the residents and visitors in our communities."

Antrim County's Housing Department assists low income families with rehabilitation of their homes to remove existing health and safety hazards within the home.

Another Antrim County department that is helpful to many is Veteran's Affairs, which works with veterans and their dependents to obtain any and all county, state, and federal benefits to which they are entitled.
