Antrim County now has 8 Recycling Drop-Off Centers as of October 5, 2009. Recycling is simple and important. Please take the time to recycle your items properly and help keep our sites clean. If you see any mis-use, dumping of trash or garbage or if the bins are full, please contact us at (231)533-3555.

Recycling bins are at the following locations:
ALBA - At Alba Public Schools in Downtown Alba off S. Jordan River Road ALDEN - Helena Township Hall/Library on Helena Road BELLAIRE - Antrim County Transportation (ACT) Building, M-88 Hwy., across from Shanty Creek Road CENTRAL LAKE - Transfer Station, M-88 Hwy. north of Central Lake -- Hours of Operation: Tuesday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and Saturday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm ELK RAPIDS-Municipal Building, in the south parking lot off Bridge Street ELLSWORTH - Road Commission Site, across from the ball fields on Lake Street KEWADIN - Old Milton Township Hall on Cairn Hwy. MANCELONA - Township Hall, M-88 Hwy. west of Mancelona
Aseptic packaging and cartons (juice and milk cartons)
All papers should be in clear bags or put in loosely. All shredded paper should be in clear bags. All boxes should be broken down to conserve recycling space in the bins. Remove all liners and/or packing materials.
PLASTIC
Items to Recycle
Plastic bottles, jugs, and jars #1 - #7
Plastic tubs and and trays #1-7
Plastic grocery bags - CLEAN AND INSIDE A CLEAR BAG
All plastics should be rinsed clean. All plastic should be thrown into bin loosely. All plastic should be crushed to conserve recycling space in the bins.
NO STYROFOAM WILL BE ACCEPTED!
GLASS
Items to Recycle
All glass bottles and containers of all colors including:
wine bottles
glass juice containers
pickle and vegetable jars
jam and jelly jars
All glass should be completely empty and rinsed clean.
NO broken window glass, NO dishes, NO light bulbs!
METAL/TIN/ALUMINUM
Items to Recycle
Aluminum and steel cans (often called "tin" cans)
Aluminum foil
All cans should be completely empty and rinsed clean. All cans should be FLATTENED to conserve recycling bin space.
