Public Works Committee
The Public Works Committee discusses and makes recommendations to the County Board of Commissioners on operational and policy matters concerning the planning, implementation, and operation of the County's public infrastructure. They oversee the activities of the Construction Code Department, the county Solid Waste and Recycling Council, Board of Public Works, soil erosion control (through a contract with the Antrim Conservation District), and the Drain Commissioner (county dams and water levels, and the Elk Rapids Hydroelectric Dam). The Public Works Committee also serves as oversight to the county Planning Commission, the county Economic Development Corporation and Brownfield Redevelopment Authority, and as the liaison with the Northern Lakes Economic Alliance.
