1.         Meeting called to order at 9:00 a.m. by Mike Crawford

2.         Emergency Erosion Control Work at Wetzel Lake

Janet Person apprised the Committee on the need to implement immediately some stormwater and erosion control works at the end of the new parking area at Wetzel Lake.  Janet distributed a cost estimate and a sketch of the proposed drainage facilities.  Work will also include an explanatory sign for the park.  Janet noted that development of the parking area has resulted in runoff that created a gulley in the beach area.  To prevent further enlargement of the gulley, a subsurface drainage system is being proposed.

Motion by Bernie Blackmore, seconded by Mike Crawford, to authorize emergency expenditures of $2,078.60 by the Antrim Conservation District for soil erosion and stormwater runoff control, and a future use explanatory sign at the Wetzel Lake park.  Motion Passed – unanimous.

3.         Public Comment

Al Luurtsema inquired about the status of the Parks & Recreation Commission budget.  Mike Crawford noted that further action will be take at the next Parks Committee meeting.

Meeting adjourned at 9:10 a.m.
