5.        Animal Shelter Update

Motion by Gene Dawson, supported by Larry Bargy, to recommend the Board of Commissioners approve the quote, for installing phone/data cable in the Animal Shelter, from Bob Pecar for $1,245 (see attachment).  Motion carried – Unanimous.

Mr. Weisler informed the Committee he is waiting for the windows to be delivered to get the outside of the building completed.

Sheriff Johnson recommended Mr. Yvon contact the Department of Agriculture for some pre-inspections.  Mr. Yvon agreed it would be a good idea.

The Committee inquired of Mr. Yvon why the electrical was not included in the bid specifications.  Mr. Yvon indicated that because it is a new site with many unknowns it would have been nearly impossible for the contractors to bid on the electrical.  Consequently it was left out.

˛      Consumers Energy Invoice

The Committee directed Mr. Garwood to see if he can get the cost reduced by proposing to Consumers Energy a more direct route to the transformer.

6.        Mills-Fordray Building

Mr. Garwood informed the Committee that the County was approached with an offer to purchase property across Cayuga Street known as the Mills-Fordray Building.  The Committee discussed the proposal and decided, with the current economic conditions, the County would not be able to consider the purchase at this time.
