At their regular meeting on January 10, 2019, the Antrim County Board of Commissioners voted to change their meeting structure to two (2) monthly Board meetings and to eliminate the standing committee structure that had been in place since 2014.
The Health and Public Safety Committee discussed and made recommendations to the County Board of Commissioners on operational and policy matters concerning the County health system, animal shelter and control, law enforcement, court system, and emergency services.
This Committee also exercised operational and/or budgetary oversight functions over the Circuit Court, Friends of the Court, District Court, NW Michigan Community Health Agency, 911 Board, Human Services, Department of Human Services, Community Mental Health.
Those matters now fall directly under the purview of the Antrim County Board of Commissioners.
