Bob Peterson called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m. |

II. Public Comment |

Brad Kik spoke in favor of recycling. |
|||
|
III. Approval of Minutes |
||||
|
|
Motion by Gene Dawson, supported by Bill Gadwau, to approve the minutes from the January 29, 2007 meeting as amended. Motion carried – unanimous. |

IV. Recycling Program |

|
|
Joe Meyers gave the Council the presentation that he will be giving the Michigan Townships Association, Antrim County Chapter that evening.
The Council recommended that Joe inform the association of the current recycling program that the County currently provides.
Raelene spoke on setting up a workgroup/sub-committee to discuss the recycling system. The workgroup would consist of Raelene Reilly, Mike Domsic, Brad Kik, and Gene Dawson.
Motion by Raelene Reilly, supported by Jill Barnard, to create a Recycling Sub-Committee with Raelene Reilly, Mike Domsic, Brad Kik, and Gene Dawson. Motion carried – unanimous. |

V. Cardboard Recycling Program |

|
Marv Rubingh presented his plan for the County to reinstitute the cardboard program in Central Lake. Marv indicated that he would charge $9.00 a yard typically pulling 50-60 yards per month.
The Council discussed a cardboard recycling program for the County.
Motion by Bill Gadwau, supported by Raelene Reilly, to recommend the Public Works Committee consider reinstituting the County Cardboard Recycling Program in Central Lake. Motion carried – unanimous. |

VI. Household Hazardous Waste |

|
|
The Council discussed the 2007 Household Hazardous Waste days. The Council determined that September 8 and October 6, 2007 would be the days. |
