3. Building Department Update |
Bob Massey joined the meeting and gave a written and verbal report. |
Mr. Massey and the Committee reviewed a specific plumbing code section that requires the plumbing inspector to inspect all hook ups to municipal sewer and water. The State has indicated that they expect all departments to do these inspections (currently not done by Antrim County). Mr. Massey indicated that through the administrative rules he can assign the inspection to the Village DPW’s and water authorities and simply require they file a report with the building department indicating that the systems were tested and are functioning properly. |

Charlie Koop, Legal Counsel, joined the meeting. Mr. Koop informed the Committee of the legal ramifications of the program. |
The Committee agreed that Mr. Massey should contact all the Villages and explain the situation with the two options to get their opinion on how they would like to see it handled. Mr. Massey will report back at the next meeting. |
