Stan Moore called the meeting to order at 1:02 p.m. |

III. Minutes |

|
Motion by Mike Crawford, supported by Don Schuiteman, to approve the minutes of December 4, 2006 as presented. Motion carried – unanimous. |
||
|
IV. Trails |
|||
|
|
The Committee discussed the trails sub-committee and how to get people involved. The Committee suggested writing a letter to all of the participants of our trails forum.
The Committee indicated that we should draft the necessary language to improve our parks and recreation plan for trails. |

V. Barnes Park Fee Sub-committee |

|
Joe Meyers introduced the recommendations of the Barnes Park Fee Sub-committee.
Their recommendations are as follows: Set aside five sites for a seasonal rental for the cost of $1,500.00. Set aside 10 sites for reservations for an additional cost of $5.00 per reservation and a minimum of 3 nights. Raise the fees to $25 for electric and $21 for primitive Raise the pavilion rental to $40 per day for residents and nonresidents.
Motion by Jerome Dobrzelewski, supported by Mark Stone to recommend Parks Committee accept all of the recommendations of the Barnes Park Fee Sub-committee. Motion carried – unanimous.
Mark Stone recommended that staff check with legal counsel on a lease for the seasonal rentals.

Linda Gallagher informed the Committee of the progress on the Petoskey Stone Festival Sub-committee.
Linda indicated that we needed volunteers and sponsors for the festival. |

Mark Stone showed the Committee the Barnes Park map. The Committee did a final review of the sign. |
