3. Sheriff Department Update |
|
Sheriff Terry Johnson joined the meeting and updated the Committee on the activities of the Sheriff Department. |

4. Emergency Operations |
|
Peter Garwood, Coordinator/Planner, on behalf of Carl Goeman, Emergency Coordinator, presented a resolution regarding Region 7 Homeland Security Planning Board on which Antrim County has a representative. Grand Traverse County will be acting as the fiscal agent for the Planning Board, which will receive grant dollars for homeland security to be spent on projects throughout the Region 7 counties. The resolution would indemnify and hold harmless Grand Traverse County if the Planning Board makes a decision to spend monies on something that the State later determines is ineligible. |

Motion by Bernie Blackmore, supported by David Howelman, to recommend the Board of Commissioners approve the Region 7 Homeland Security Planning Board resolution. Motion Carried – Unanimous. |

5. House Numbering Ordinance |
|
The Committee reviewed the Draft Street and Road Numbering Ordinance and an amendment to Schedule of Civil Fines. |

Motion by Bernie Blackmore, supported by David Howelman, to recommend the Board of Commissioners approve the Street and Road Numbering Ordinance with the addition of an amendment to not allow family names for private roads in the future. Motion Carried - Unanimous |

Motion by Bernie Blackmore, supported by David Howelman, to recommend the Board of Commissioners approve the amendment to the Schedule of Civil Fines for a violation of the Street and Road Numbering Ordinance. Motion Carried – Unanimous. |
