Minutes
Meeting held at Antrim Creek Natural Area
ACNA Commission Members Present:			Jerroll Drenth, Jacob Veenstra, Carl Veenstra, and Gary Strange
Members Absent:			Marion Williams
Staff Present:			Joe Meyers
Others Present:			None
1.         Call to Order
	The meeting was called to order by Jerroll Drenth at 7:02 p.m.
2.         Public Comment
	None.
3.         Review of the June 12, 2007 Minutes
	The minutes of June 12, 2007 were accepted.
4.         Metal Detectors
	Joe handed out a policy created by the Coordinator/Planner's Office addressing the usage of metal detectors at ACNA.  Discussion ensued over the policy. Motion by Gary Strange, supported by Carl Veenstra, to recommend the Board of Commissioners approve the Metal Detector Policy.  Motion carried – unanimous.
5.         ACNA Brochures
	Joe Meyers handed out a brochure put together by the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board highlighting various county parks.  Discussion ensued over the brochure but they would like to try and create something for next year.
6.         Trail Markers
	Joe indicated that he had the trail markers and gave them to Carl.
7.         Animal Habitat
	Discussion ensued over the wild flower habitat. The Commission decided that they would like to see a DNR mix with some wildflower to attract birds.

8.        Member Comment
	Joe indicated that the Coordinator/Planner's office is sending out over 75 agendas for every meeting.  Joe asked if they could put a note on all the agendas asking the people who receive the agendas to contact us if they want to continue receiving the agendas by mail. The Committee indicated that they would be in favor of that.

The next Antrim Creek Natural Area Commission meeting is scheduled for October 3, 2007, 7:00 p.m. at Banks Township Hall
